According to a recent Digiday post, the myth that good tech startups do not need PR is just that - a myth. Many startups seem to think that they lose credibility if they sell out to the media. In fact, a strong strategic media plan will help these companies gain credibility by focusing on the right media with the right message.  

A recent story in Fast Company explores the effect that location-based social media sites like Foursquare, Facebook Places, Groupon, and others have on driving consumers to buy. Apparently, so far it's not much. 

Ask a veteran ad executive what he or she thinks of PR and you probably won't be too surprised by the answer. But ask an ad veteran who has moved into the PR space and the answers may be quite a bit different! In a recent PRWeek article, Steve Hardwick reflects on the differences he discovered after joining the PR industry following 25 years in advertising. 

A recent study conducted by Edison and Arbitron showed that audio and video consumption increased by 20 percent in the U.S. in April, according to a recent Adweek article. The study states that increasing use of smartphones, social media and online radio are some of the factors involved in the increase.
